Review of Rise of the Guardians

Plot

The story begins with a boy being raised from a frozen lake.  The only thing he knows is that his name is Jack Frost.  He soon discovers he is unseen to those around him but it remains a mystery as to why.

300 years later, North receives a vision that Pitch Black the boogeyman is back, and alerts the other Guardians.  Tooth, Bunny, Sandy and North are all informed by the Man in the moon that Jack Frost is to join them as a guardian to battle the new threat.

Meanwhile, Jack Frost is bringing joy and fun to children in Burgess, Pennsylvania.  Later that evening he is taken forcibly to the North Pole by North's Yeti's where he declines to join them as a guardian.  While North is trying to convince him they are informed that there is trouble in the Tooth Palace.

Upon arriving at the Tooth Palace they learn that Pitch is stealing the children's teeth as well as the baby tooth fairies so the children of the world will no longer believe in the Tooth Fairy.  Jack manages to save one of the baby fairies and promptly names her Baby Tooth.  The guardians confront Pitch who easily escapes.  Jack learns that the teeth hold the most precious memories of childhood which is a turning point for him since he has no memories of who he was before becoming Jack Frost.

The guardians and Jack Frost agree to help Tooth collect the teeth so that the children of the world won't lose their faith in him.  Their last stop is in the room of a boy named Jamie who can see everyone except Jack Frost.  Jack and Sandy are attacked by Pitch's nightmares even though they put up a great fight Sandy is still overcome by Pitch.

Easter is only a day away, and the only hope to keep children believing, the group agree to help Bunny distribute his eggs.  They find Jamie's toddler sister Sofie in the warren, with the help of Jacks winter magic manage to decorate the eggs in time for Easter.  Against the wishes of the others Jack takes Sofie home.

Lured by a familiar voice calling to him Jack and Baby tooth discover Pitch's hideout.  Pitch offers Jack his teeth, which hold his memories, if were will remain neutral during the fight.   Jack refuses and manages to escape with his canister of teeth but loses Baby Tooth to Pitch.  He returns to the others only to find that Pitch's nightmares destroyed all the eggs before they made it to the surface.

Being blamed for his failure, Jack isolates himself only to be confronted by Pitch again.  Still refusing his offer Pitch agrees to return baby tooth in exchange for his staff.  Pitch then sends Jack and Baby Tooth into a crevasse.  Baby Tooth opens Jack's memories where he learns that he had a little sister who he saved from falling through the ice on a frozen pond only to fall through himself only to be resurrected by the Man in the Moon as Jack Frost.  This inspires Jack to return to save the last child who still believes; Jamie.

Jack manages to restore Jamie's faith in the other guardians but also succeeds in getting Jamie to believe in him as well, making Jamie the first child to be able to see and hear Jack.  The two of them join the other weakened Guardians in their fight against Pitch.  Through fun Jack and Jamie get the rest of jamie's friends to join the seemingly impossible fight.  Pitch's nightmares are no match for the children's faith which also result in Sandy's resurrection.  No longer feared, Pitch cannot be seen or heard by the children and his fear turns his own nightmares against him.

Jack finally accepts his place with the Guardians saying goodbye to Jamie and his friends.  Jack assures Jamie that as long as they believe the guardians will be there to protect them.

Review

Rise of the Guardians is an exquisitely crafted adventure with a incredible plot and positive message which makes it great for tweens who still enjoy animation as well as younger audiences.  The voice acting is superb including Alec Baldwin as Santa, Hugh Jackman as The Easter Bunny, Isla Fisher as The Tooth Fairy, Chris Pine as Jack Frost and Jude Law as Pitch Black.  The movie's visuals are completely dazzling as you get to see two cities as well as each of the Guardian's headquarters.  The Dialogue is hilarious as they battle the very real threat of children losing their faith.

Rist of the Guardians is a must see adventure for all ages.

Review of movie-distro.com

I got into watching anime several years ago thanks to a friend who made me attend one of the anime showing at Media Play.  I've been hooked ever since usually preferring english dub over the original japanese.  I recently had the chance to visit the movie-distro.com site and was impressed right away, mainly because one of the characters to my favorite shows was in the site banner.

This site allows you to download some anime for free but in order to get the real perks you will need to be a member.  Membership is a one time fee of $37 which in my opinion is a great deal for any anime fan.  Membership allows you to download Anime, Manga and Drama.

Manga - This page consists of over 853 manga

Drama - This page consists of over 3000 title including Japanese series, Japanese movies, Korean series, Korean movies and Chinese and Talwanese dramas
